Fish Camp
Wake. Fish. Sleep. Repeat
THE PARSONAGE
The Parsonage is one of the original Fishing Breaks beats, dating back nearly 30 years. It is a unique combination of the main River Test with a long carrier, all within the beautiful setting of woodland and water meadows. The main river is wide with a combination of long glides, deep pools and some shallow sections. There is a good wild trout population supplemented by regular stocking plus plenty of grayling and the occasional sea trout and salmon towards the end of the season. The carrier provides more intimate fishing and the perfect place to break out a smaller rod. At The Parsonage I have succeeded in keeping the Fish Camp cost down by offering it during the weed cutting periods. From my own personal experience of fishing during the cut you will certainly find times in the day when it is tricky, but morning and evening are usually fine and with all the insect life stirred up the fish are surprisingly active. |
The Parsonage is over a mile from the nearest pub or shop. Riverside hut. Cooking facilities. BBQ. WC.

DEANS COURT
|
Just on the outskirts of Wimborne, in the grounds of the small stately home of Deans Court, this is the last beat on the River Allen before it joins the River Stour. With a mixture of bank and wading, but mostly best fished wading, the beat has a healthy population of wild brown trout and grayling supplemented by some stocked fish, plus a few perch and other freshwater fish that make their way up from the Stour.
